Norwalk Seaport Association
Founded in 1978, the Norwalk
Seaport Association is now lower Fairfield County’s most active nonprofit
organization devoted to maritime preservation, education and to the area’s
seafaring heritage.
The Association stages the
famous Norwalk Oyster Festival each year, maintains Sheffield Island and the
Sheffield Island Lighthouse as a museum and nature preserve, offers a
children’s maritime education program from its harbor side headquarters, and
conducts tours of scenic Norwalk Harbor and the Norwalk Islands on its 49
passenger Coast Guard Certified ferry.
Information on all of our
programs, and registration for the children’s education programs, trips to
Sheffield Island and the lighthouse, harbor cruises, lobster bakes on the
island, and other special events can be obtained by calling 203-838-9444.
